There was also a boxed kit, consisting of the AEC tractor unit, adaptor bogie, and one box van trailer.

Peco Catalogue 1968...

Also, see this thread...

Even more strange...the photo on the current listing is included in the previous listing, but it has been turned upside down ! :scratchhead:

Some of the first kits my dad let me build. I think he's still got a couple stashed away :)

I have a stash of these old container wagons in a box somewhere, still available new, with containers for less than this example!

It started at 99p, £19 is just bidder stupidity.

Cut out card, more like!

Painted with tar, and there's a brush-hair in the cab doorway!

Though why you'd call a Lima Small Prairie "kit built"...

Kitbuilt? It’s a Lima model, repainted with a toothbrush...

The only Kit bit could be the numberplates...including a smoke box plate that GWR locos didn’t have prior to 1948...

The lettering, in the wrong font (Times New Roman?) looks to have been printed, cut out, and affixed by glue, double sided tape, self adhesive printing paper,  or whatever...

Listing now ended by seller, as the item is no longer available....:unknw_mini:

EDIT to add: Posted from the previous page, before I read Hroth’s post on this page...;):)

£50 ? For that junk?

It was originally a British Railways liveried model, you can see the remains of the lining on the cylinders as well as the smokebox number.

Shame really that it's been painted with a fork / toilet brush / hammer / brick etc.

With a bit of detailing and a change of pony truck wheels, they still make a nice model, even 40 years on.

I would class that as a daft price rather than a fancy price. I've noticed a number of limited edition private owner wagons at high prices.

It's yet another contrived collectors bandwagon. I'm fine with it, because it's not my money. :D

Hundreds of Tri-ang "Nellies" have been converted over the years and this one isn't expensive. I'm just not sure what the plan is with the poor old thing's cab?

What's that scraping sound I hear?

Oh, hang on, it's the bottom of the barrel.

The most unusual thing is that this one is mounted onto a Hornby “Caledonian Pug” type chassis....
