Only with an awful lot of stereotypes.

1. Some people have an awful lot of disposable income from well paid jobs.

2. Some people have very small living expenses having never flown the nest.

3. Some people have no other interests or responsibilities.

4. Some do not have and never have had a significant other.

5. Some people don't get out very much.

Probably a combination of all five possibilities.

You forgot No 6....often found at shows (remember them) Soap/deodorant dodgers ...buy models instead of right guard!

Yet another over-priced engine? I think so... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OO-Gauge-Triang-Stephensons-Rocket-in-L-MR-Yellow/114746830691?hash=item1ab771af63%3Ag%3AgJUAAOSwywxgYzGC&LH_BIN=1

Triang Rocket - £295.00. I'm fairly sure the new Hornby one was less than that, and was a better representation of the engine?

EDIT: And to continue the Thomas theme: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Daisy-the-Diesel-Railcar-Thomas-The-Tank-Engine-Custom-Built-Model-Triang-Hornby/363342753020?hash=item5498ea6cfc%3Ag%3AOJwAAOSwjSFgZjgU&LH_BIN=1

£160 for a Class 121 made from Triang Class 101 parts (and you also get a face stuck on for good measure). TOC listed as "The Fat Controller's Railway".

The Rocket set in a box, with a coach is good...if a trifle pricy...;)

But it seems to be missing the special loco crew, and the instructions. Also I think that this set came with a Service Dealer List as well...

A printed face on Daisy...apart from that, and the price, it’s not so bad...

Perhaps it's being suspicious from watching "Line of Duty", but consider that antiques/collectibles have long been an effective cover for laundering illicit cash.  Your associate buys collectibles cheap and you "buy" them from him for extortionate amounts.  Police visit your house and find you've got a huge collection of model trains bought off the internet.  The police are hardly going to immediately know that a 50-year old Tri-ang-Hornby Class 37 isn't worth £500, it's an antique isn't it......

Is it me, or has somebody stuck a piece of liquorice on the front?

Yes...it's Rocket Railways.... :D

But at least they noticed it had a homemade chimney!

Looks like a painted Hula Hoop! :chok_mini:

Looks like train style crack pipe...draw in via fire box! Lockdown got to me ...sorry

Sorry, I've led a quiet, rural life. What's a 'crack pipe'? Sounds medical? Something to do with the intergluteal cleft, perchance?? :unknw_mini:

I didn't know all that about the Rocket model - thanks for the info. The Daisy model looks to be one of the better 101 to 121 conversions I've seen, but it's not amazing. The face just sits on the front waiting to fall off!

Can this be flagged as miss-selling? That's never a L&Y "Pug" in a month of Sundays!
