Ahh, the old "price it high, accept "low" offer of buy it now" trick.

Say you want £100 for a loco.  Someone will offer £80-£60 maybe.  Price it at £150, and you'll get offers in the region of what you want.

The buyer thinks they've got a bargain, the seller gets what they wanted.

Or just do what I did.

Put it up as buy it now and wait.

But then some people can't wait.

He's also offering a set of three of the same Thomas milk tanks for £42, but the difference is those three have the lettering printed in blue whereas the one you've spotted is printed in red lettering and he says that's "Rare".  If he can get a collector to pay that for it, good luck to him.

The red lettering is indeed a little rare but not £109 rare.

Plus, if they stay true to their word of posting 2nd Class, that's inviting a "not turned up" claim - especially at that price.

The seller has priced all their items on the high side though.

He can always charge 2nd class postage but still send it recorded ... I've done that when something I thought wasn't worth very much sold for rather more than I had expected.

Anyone wanting a C14 would do better starting with a good old Hornby 'Nellie'!?

Bodge together a Nellie body and a 101 chassis, and leave the cylinders on!

A much "better" loose resemblance....

No, I'm not going to try it, I still haven't done anything with my Fireless loco consisting of a couple of Dapol kits (pug and oil tanker) and a back to front 101 chassis, and at least I have the parts for that to hand...

But I'll write it up in the Projects binder!

Written up.

Being good.

Not looking for Nellies.

Honest!

A "train set in a tin" plus Dapol pug, add plasticard equals big grin......

Now I’m the first to admit that my GWR knowledge is not as sharp as it can be, but I’m pretty sure that this isn’t a King :sarcastic: any guesses as to what it actually is though?

Ok, got that out of my system...

Its a genuine Graham Farish loco, but rather than a King its a GF GP5 or, their effort at a Black 5.

Here's another

A bit more expensive, should you want such a lump, because its claimed to be working...

A friend of mine has recently sold a clean and working unboxed example for £50 on eBay after years of carting it round fairs and swapmeets at £35 ono. He was quite happy about that.

It seems that there isn't much demand for them.

Possibly an N gauge Ratio signal box that has been carefully removed from a redundant layout with what appears to be a broadsword...

Apparently it's from Bridgenorth... are the SVR carrying out a sell off of odds and ends?

You will have the grammar police after you with that miss spelling of Bridgnorth. In some circles it can lead to excommunication. Others will tell you the e was dropped in the mid 19th century so is historically correct if not for the current period.

How much of Ratio’s production was undertaken in West Germany?

The “superstructure” beneath the damaged plastic base looks to be made of cardboard.
