One would like to think so, but I rather suspect they would claim to have limited resources and no doubt the Chief Constable's priority is road safety or whatever the South Wales Guardian is currently excited about. We don't have any evidence that his goods "fell off the back of a lorry".

Possibly, or possibly not, you cannot just label someone a fraudster based on one listing when there are other perfectly good listings elsewhere under the same seller and not a lot of negative feedback. The correct approach was taken, to report the sale and let Ebay resolve it.

RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted July 8, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 8, 2021 It does seem a bit odd, this one, but as has been said it is possible that this is not being done with criminal intent. But I would, were I interested in any of the stuff, prefer to not give the seller the benefit of the doubt; my feeling is that he is playing on the possibility of a buyer who will give him this in the wording of the description 'don't know much' etc. There is certainly a air of mendacity here, and I'd keep my money in my pockets, thank you all very much... My general principle in trawling eBay is to ignore any item(s) that I am unclear about the description of, whether I consider them dodgy or not. 1

It might be a method ebay uses to track searches and work out what the user likes to search for and perhaps buy, circumventing cookies. I've taken to opening a private window in Firefox and examining such links from there. If you want to share a link, you can then open a fresh ebay screen in a new tab in the private window, search for the title of the listing and open it, with a much shorter link, that can then be copied across to your main window and paste it into your RMweb post. Closing the private window then disposes of any cookies, etc. Paranoid? Moi??? 1 3 1
