Nah! I won't bid on it - I rather have one that is painted in BR blue with the double arrow logo on the tank sides! :P

Ficticious Liveries all over again, except that thread seemed to only feature diesels/electrics...

This is surely the little-known prototype for Stanier's class 4 tank. It was hastily covered up with tarpaulins after being shown to a horrified board of directors, who ordered him to save money by upgrading Fowler's design, and to make it look less Great Western. They grudgingly accepted the tapered boiler concept, but the rest was anathema. The fate of the loco remains a mystery as the records of its construction and disposal were understandably destroyed. It was rumoured to have been painted GWR green and quietly abandoned at a shared station, where the GWR unknowingly steamed it and took it away as one of theirs. It may explain some stories of a rogue loco on which none of the parts quite matched Swindon standards and was a b****r to repair.

For £13k and £14.5k wouldn't you expect more than just 1 pic of each? Seller has a feedback of 98.7pct - can't see myself rushing for the cheque book.

And it suprises me that he can't even get one picture the right way up - I'm not suprised that he's not put any more up for each lot.

Guest dilbert

With all of the Ebay examples portrayed in this thread, at the closure of an auction there are at least two people in the world that are happy - the seller and the buyer. Thereafter, when reality sets in, the total may be reduced by one... dilbert

Just goes to show - one man's rubbish is another man's rubbish!

I though "I'll put a bid on for that  " But someone else must want it more - They bid twice in eleven seconds, and got it for the grand sum of £1.04!!

I don't think I'll bother this time.

Was the perpetrator of this rolling stock crime struggling with an acid habit, do you think?

I saw it and thought "Gerry Anderson - Thunderbirds" styling!

Although I think that is a dis-service to Gerry Andersons model makers.

Be a :diablo_mini: as we all know what it is to miss out on a lot by 5p so you will need to bid to get your fix.

He's got a few more equally rare and hard-to-snap items. Methinks there must have been another free listing weekend where people list things in a hurry meaning to catch up later. Now where's my A to Z? Where does that road of good intentions go?
