Couldn't let page 1000 go by without a

"paint it yellow and put Network Rail stickers on"............

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-00X5-Network-Rail-Small-Coaches-Repainted/224154607513?hash=item3430a7df99:g:I1gAAOSwJ2lfXOnh

Two questions:

1. Does anyone believe network rail is using fictitious 1860s coaching stock?

2. Does the seller seriously expect to get £50 for painting ex car boot train set items yellow?

If the answers are yes and yes, then without doubt, it's quite at home on this thread.........

Very true. I think I will have to put this on my watch list. If it sells, I will have to paint the contents of my scrap box yellow and get them listed.

Ebay madness? Nope, more money to spend on trains I DO like!

Real carriages. Built around 1890 to 1900 for the Somerset & Dorset.

Let's hope that the seller doesn't read that or you might be responsible for one of the Hornby SDJR 4-4-0s getting painted yellow and Network rail stickers slapped on its tender.

About 15 times what it's worth, but then again, what price eternity?

Possibly priced because of the added personalisation, with the rather intimate hair {pic 3}.

Pedantry: "based on", as @Enterprisingwestern says, at least above u/f level but of 1860s or early 1870s S&D vintage, certainly not 1890s. Most like No. 2A, photographed c. 1891 [R. Garner, Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway Locomotive & Rolling Stock Registers (Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust, 2000)].

I think the listing titles are being dictated by a ventriloquist’s dummy.

Looks more like dog hair to me....

Not sure if that makes it better or worse to be honest!!

I wondered if he'd listed it in EUR and ebay was converting the price to GBP,  That would explain the diff between £750 and £760 but not the jump to £870 as I think the rate has been about  EUR1.1/£1 though the date range?
