He played Francis Bigger in Carry On Doctor :)

Francis Bigger: I did not. I fell on my back.

Dr James Kilmore: Your coccyx is at the base of the spine.

Francis Bigger: Well I've never heard it called that before."

Whole rash of ABS 7mm GWR kits up now at just £99 each. They've been unavailable for a long time and were only going for 35-40 ish recently.

Or theres a quite nicely made up one at £50 and I'd though that was a bit steep!

I thought THIS was steep....!

I remember the Virgin Trains HST stock being a bag of ‘nuts and bolts’ towards the end of their working life with Virgin and the livery on many power cars and MK3’s being a bit patchy (before the MTU upgrades and transfer to other TOC’s) .... but I can’t remember any looking quite like this! (zoom into the pics to really appreciate ‘Neville Hill’s’ handiwork!!)

To be fair ... the listing is honest and spot-on .... “bizarre conversion” indeed!

And to be fair, currently at a fairly low price. Certain other eBay sellers would try to list it as ‘r@re’ and ‘kit built’ and charge about £200. I get the sense that it might be from a job lot and the seller doesn’t think much of it either. The description of the replacement power bogie modifications is also strange.

I always wonder why anyone would leave the original purchase price sticker on - especially when asking for about 3x the amount....

I think this must be what prompted Virgin to sanction ModelRail's limited edition Hornby 90 "Mission Impossible", when it was pointed out that quality factory finished models would do their image more good than practice repaints at home.

Anyway, one of the reasons why I learnt CAD was to enable me to quickly build replacements of locos not available as RTR, should the unthinkable happen and a replacement needed. So why pay a price akin to something made out of Unicorn toenails for something that could easily be reprinted....

Possibly because peeling off old labels that have been there years leaves an ugly mark, so it's a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't?

Get rid of all three IMHO and buy the more accurate Lima version, especially the recent re-motored one.

Mike.

Er, no.

you may not like the detail but there’s no point having something that runs awfully and has a cheap ass plastic chassis . And I include the warmed over version in that .

It looks like the non paying comedian(s) are at it again, this time with a different London Underground rolling stock item.  Check out the bidding:

Question.

Is this:

A. Someone doing a great job of artificially inflating the perceived value of these models.

B. People who have vast amounts of cash but no life

C. Quite a clever money laundering racket.

Your choice.

NOT a railway model, but something is a similar state to some of the horrors we've been looking at.

The Isle of Wight Monolith , obtained from the National Trust under possibly false pretences and put on ebay.  Currently 77 bids and £5,100

"... you 100% will not find another one this is the real deal isle of wight monolith ..."Guess that makes it 'Rare'?

Another godawful piece of public art. Someone was probably given a £30,000 grant of taxpayers money to create that.

The charity (the National Trust) said one of its rangers who had come to collect the pieces was "approached by an individual who asked if he could have the remains for his garden, so they were left for him to take away."
