EBay madness

Now I know these are like rocking hor hen's teeth, but this price seems rather OTT.

I wouldn't like to suggest any wrongdoing, but there are definite signs of tampering with the tags.

Strictly a post war body is pre-war anyway, as apparently a quantity of of printed sheets were stashed away and brought out after the war for assembly. I suspect some were printed later on (around the time of the introduction of the revised tank wagon liveries (1951, or possibly 1950) not 1954 as stated in the 'bible' - I received a set for Xmas 1951) , but Southern brake vans don't seem to have been included, hence their rarity.

Every so often I scan Ebay for the occasional bargain... and usually come away shaking my head.

This one was the one today:

Adderley Hall AU$277 to get this apparently rare Hornby Railroad Hall class delivered to my door here in Australia, from an Australian eBayer. Apparently "This locomotive will be a great investment as few have been made and is sold out in the UK".

Makes me wonder then why I can get the same thing, shipped from Hattons, delivered to my door, for about AU$90.

He's been overpricing stuff for ages, catching the less informed out of their money.

The seller has probably confused “Pullman” with “Pacer”.  Easy mistake to make until you set foot in a Pacer...

Cheers

Yet another “open” coach with a mysterious corridor inside.

It looks like a stock photo.

For £94.99 I would expect several pictures of what I was actually buying (or in this case 'not buying'!).

'Really good condition,' so I imagine the buffers were lost as the loco was pulled out of the cow's ar$e during weathering.

EDIT: how did I manage that epic link?  Really quite proud of myself.

I really like the clean ploughs on the bogies - it sets off the "cow's bottom" weathering elsewhere so you aptly described and named.

If you're that deperate for a Nu-Cast J15 (for all I know they make good models) - then why not buy this one?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NU-CAST-LNER-BR-J15-GER-CLASS-Y14-0-6-0-LOCOMOTIVE-KIT/323690244272

instead of going rather nuts on this one:

Although I guess this one has a few more wheels.
