Coal seams in the Black Country could be as thick as 30 feet; far from crawling around on their knees all shift, some Black Country miners had to use ladders at the coal face ;)

Of course it played havoc with building subsidence, some evidence of which is still around.

Renumbered yes, but kit built? Pushing it a little there.

As for the matchsticks debate, I think he's missing a trick - he could also sell bags of air to use for the return journey when the wagon's empty.

Can't someone pay him a visit and lean on him to cease and desist with the imbecilic and useless 'Kit-Built' thing he attaches to every description, the man's insufferable.

You want nothing - available for £1.

Excellent condition apparently:

How hard was Ellis Clark stifling a belly-laugh when he listed these, or did he get his dog to do it?

Either that or they were painted in the dark!!

This is cheaper.....

Hmmmm - Should I put that in the Bargain Hunters thread?

Ebay call it keyword spamming - draws unfair attention to a listing. You can even report it to them. Yet when reported nothing actually happens, I have reported dozens of them when bored.

But remember, he described it as

SIMPLY STUNNING

I don't think you could fault him there...

And it says “DCC” but when you read the description it means DCC ready.  For £238 you would expect DCC sound.

One for the Gostude rip-off category.

PS I have sent a message to the seller through eBay that they should correct either the photo or the listing title description.

Condition is Used....brand new, never open.  Photo of the unit in its inner packaging, out of the box

I see the seller has now changed to description to

“it rial car bubble br blue and grey roof both are“

Dont want to criticise the spelling and grammar etc. as the seller may be dyslexic but they are still describing it as Lima.

Danger of bidding for this with all the confusion is that you may end up getting a can of baked beans.

I think you'd be lucky to get the baked beans

Looking at some of his other stuff and mis-matched titles/descriptions.

A (most likely Dapol) 122 is a Hornby 2-car 156 in the description

Obviously a great deal of research, market expertise and thought has gone into the pricing of this locomotive.

£, 2, 3, 4, . 5, 0

If I could be bothered, I would have a look look at his other items for sale and see if there's anything for sale for say:

£12.34, £23.45, £34.56 etc. etc.

But I have more pressing issues to attend to, chiefly, swearing at the battery on Miss Riding Hood's Triumph Herald. It's sulking at lack of use.

I've done the next best thing.

I've messaged him pointing out it's a Bachmann model

and asking him to confirm it is kit built.

I'm not holding my breath for a reply.
