LJC
This is a new chassis, wanted to see if their was a straightforward fix before I decide to send back. Noticed when running it was a bit slow and stuttery. On turning it upside down and applying power directly to the wheels, on one of the bogies you can put your finger on any of the axles and stop the wheels turning very easily, when power switched off the axles/wheels are rock solid. The other bogie works fine, unable to stop the wheels when power appiled etc. Have had the body off and nothing obvious, checked the 'prop shaft' between motor and bogie and again all seemed well. Anyone any ideas. Cheers LJC
hollywoodfoundry
As with any new model, the best advice is to send it back for repair.
muddys-blues
Hi Robert, I had a similar problem with a Class 37 chassis a couple of years ago, I would be willing to bet it is one of the worms has come loose on the driveshaft, the offending axle is the one you can stop the wheels turning, either send it back or strip it down, take the worm off the shaft, rough the shaft up lightly with some emery cloth or wet and dry, then place some Araldite in the hole of the worm, push back onto the drivshaft and leave to set. Hope this helps Craig.
Lochnagar
As above, that's a slipping worm on the driveshaft. Could be the driveshaft collar joint but it's all the same part. Degrease it and do as muddys-blues says
