Just stumbled across your question and yes, I have fitted Kadee's to mine.

I actually used the Kadee height gauge and added a draft coupling box to the chassis, ensuring that the inside face of the coupling knuckle is inline with the buffer heads. This will work fine for rather large radius, mine work on 3' minimum radius points.

I have also converted 2 of the coaches into 4-TC driving trailer coaches (there is a thread somewhere over on the Modifying RTR section).

Thanks for this.

So you ditched the NEM mountings and fitted body mounted draft boxes under the ends ?

Were these No5 s , or some other type of Kadee?

My "worst case" is a crossover at 2'6" radius but there is a straight section in it , so it's not quite as severe as a conventional crossover. Everything else is minimum 3' radius

Yes, I ditched the NEM mount and close coupling mechanism.

They are just standard no.5's. Well actually #148 whisker couplers which are the same as #5's, but have an integral wire spring.

I have a crossover which is small radius to double slip with a small straight section between, I think both are 2' radius, and i'm sure they go across that.

I'll dig them out later and check them out....
