richbrummitt
I know bits are missing and that it looks totally wrong without foot boards. They look okay to me. Going by photographs the full length footboards disappeared early on in the last century. The ones on the bogies lasted longer, but not forever. Many of these coaches running in later life were devoid of lower footboards. no guts no glory? None at all ;-) Surely you could just unsolder it if it goes wrong? I've tried to add bolections to a plastic body using microrod. I'll let you all be the judge of my success when the next blog post has been written. Etched Pixels
On the subject of ancient etches does anyone know what 2/012 might have been years ago and if it was 2mmSA . Its a small coach etch I ended up with in a box of bits I picked up ages ago. Also has a corner with a "DB" signature on it.
2mm Andy
Alan, I will have a root through the official 2mm archives tonight to see if I can find a reference to it. DB could be Denys Brownlee, although I have no idea if he ever designed or produced etches. Andy
