Both appear to be on iron ore workings to Scunthorpe that run between Immingham Ore Terminal and Santon Foreign Ore Terminal.

Thought that looked familiar, taken the same day as a shot in the 56 thread, I was there too.

Anyway, how about a Tug race?....

I once raced 60065 from a standing start, it was light engine.  I was on private land next to a yard, in a 2l Mondeo estate which was  no slouch, I managed to pull away at 40mph but then ran out of road....

A few recent ones from me, all can be clicked to go to the Flickr site.

First up, the weekend before lockdown. A shot I nearly didn't bother going out for, but glad I took the opportunity to get out of the house! Stayed local, 10 mins from home.

60054 thuds past Winterbourne on the approach to Bristol Parkway working 6B33 Theale - Margam. Several Touax TDAs fresh off maintenance stand out at the front of the train

This week, DCR are running out of Westbury again. Tug 55 the chosen machine, here's a trio of shots of it at Westbury from various angles during loading.

49776788767_b8928355e0_h.jpgDouble quick loading (DCR 60, part 1) by Steadfast Fotography, on Flickr

DC Rail Freight's 60055 'Thomas Barnardo' sits in Westbury's New Sidings as the wagons behind it are loaded with Type 1 aggregate, made from recycled ballast and spoil from railway work sites. Two machines make it double quick work, and it would soon be time to take the first nine wagons out and put the second half in. Once all eighteen wagons were loaded, the train would depart for Bevois Park in Southampton as 6Z91 from Westbury.

With the first half of the train loaded and the second set of empties placed for filling, DC Rail Freight's 60055 'Thomas Barnardo' sits in Westbury's New Sidings during the lull whilst the Network Rail staff finish their lunch. This train takes Type 1 aggregate, made from recycled ballast and spoil from railway work sites to Bevois Park in Southampton as 6Z91 from Westbury.

Hopefully this insight helps people scratch the itch whilst we're in lockdown, I know I'm in a fortunate position to be able to record these events. Just a shame I left the proper camera at home!

Rather unusual (although someone may correct me) to see a Loco stabled in Reading Stn during the day but DB  Class 60 60054 was recently stabled in Platform 3.

The train describer was showing 0A11 (Light Engine from the Robeston - Theale tanks), this would normally remain at Theale for the return working to South Wales.

Very interesting! Admittedly I’m talking about over twenty years ago now but this used to be standard practice. The (Margam?) driver that berthed the train at Theale each morning would then bring the loco (or pair of 37s before the 60s took over) up to Reading’s platform 3 and then travel home on the cushions. The driver for the empties would arrive at Reading around lunchtime to take the loco back to Theale. Apart from a couple of parcels workings in the afternoon and evening, it was about the only thing that used platform three.

On my daily government approved walk from home, GBRf 60021 'Penyghent' is at Newsham, Northumberland with today's 6N87 Lynemouth Power Station - Port of Tyne biomass empties.

This loco caught fire about 6 months ago a few miles north at Bedlington. Good to see 60021 back on the Blyth & Tyne.

Between Northallerton and Yarm. Look up East Rounton, Northallerton and follow low lane Westwards to the LC. Helps when I spell it correctly RouNton Gates.
