Friday 2nd October 2020: a windy day at the Lindsay Oil refinery at Immingham. The gates are opened and after the biomess goes by 60020 departs for Preston (I believe). Couldn't see which 66 it was. Two VERY long trains.

Some nice photos there.

Just a couple of observations to supplement your photos;

The 60 was working 6M00 14.30 from Humber Oil Refinery to Kingsbury Oil Sidings on 2nd October rather than to Preston.  The tank workings to Preston (6M32/6E32) are contracted to Colas and are usually entrusted to a pair of Colas class 56s or a single class 70.  They haven't run since 24th September as I understand that maintenance work is currently being undertaken at Total's plant at Preston.

The 66 looks to be 66077 which, according to a TOPS list, was working between Immingham Biomass Terminal and Drax Power Station on 2nd October.  The working in your photo would probably be 6H75, 14.15 Immingham Biomass Terminal to Drax Power Station.

Thank you for the info. I did wonder why it wasn't a Colas loco hauling the oil.

Another bit of Solent 60 action this week courtesy of DCR.

As the storm clouds of earlier are blown away, 60029 "Ben Nevis" is seen at Lee, between Romsey and Southampton. It's working an early evening 6Z91 Westbury Down TC to Southampton Up Yard - 08.10.2020

The train arrived at Westbury on Wednesday morning, before doing the first loaded run to Southampton. The empties return the next morning before coming back in the early evening again. Wished I'd gone for it again today, as the weather cleared to wall to wall blue skies! Hopefully there's a return path tomorrow morning as I'm working nearby...

Andy.

GBRf 60021 'Penyghent' approaching Deighton on 24th October 2020 with 6E09, 07.40 Liverpool Biomass Terminal to Drax Power Station.

Day light workings of biomass trains (and the daily Knowsley binliners) along the Huddersfield line are unusual, but there should be a weeks worth of them between 24th October and 1st November.  This is because the usual route along the Calder Valley is closed just west of Todmorden due to engineering work on Gauxholme viaduct and Taylors bridge.

Nice photos and haulage everyone. If I could afford a Class 60. I would buy one of the standing ones from Toton and convert it into my new home. It would be more spacious than this apartment I am in. I would just need to buy some land and remove all insides and get it ready to move into. Perhaps those old Class 60's that are not for future reuse could be used for other projects and probably would be ideal to converting into homes for enthusiasts? Still at least the Class 60 is less likely to be blown over by high gusts of wind even with the power unit removed.
