The Fall & Rise of the 60's ( was The End of the Tugs?)

Also ran yesterday's train, though not in quite such lovely light.

Ach sod it, in for a penny, in for a pound...... Rather lucky fortune with a slow-moving HST, so I moved across a tad to grab this one:

It's a rather nice location, especially when the sun comes out.....

Is Barnetby still worth a visit for 2-4 of these a day ??

You know, I'm not quite sure now. I last went there in 2008, which is before the class began to get a little on the endangered side. Still, the setting is nice and there's always a good chance of one or two of these being caught on camera. :)

Hi

Two 60s through Blythe Bridge today :D . First, 60091 with loaded coal for Ratcliffe PS, then 60065 with empty coal from Ratcliffe PS. It might have been the same rake of wagons that'd swapped locos at Toton, but it'd gained a wagon if it was; 60091 had 22 HTAs, 60065 had 23.

Andrew

PS (OT) - 60065 was followed about 10 minutes later by 5 DRS 37s heading for Crewe!!

Spotted 60099 crossing the bridge over the A19 near the Tyne Tunnel again this morning shunting near the Jarrow oil terminal (I think)

It seems to have been on that train most of last week as well

Earlier he caught the Doncaster "super shunter" on a trip down the main line,

60015 visited Merseyside yesterday on 6M12 Tinsley-Seaforth steel. It stabled next to Edge Hill station until it was required to pick up its return train. 60091 was also in the area working to Liverpool Bulk terminal on 6F78, I caught it passing Edge Lane jct .

Hi all,

At around 14:30 last Sunday afternoon, I was driving along the A4 near Heathrow when I saw a60 in battered EWS livery at the oil terminal.

Does anyone know if the workings on the branch run to any times or as and when as I have seen 60s down there twice now and may be able to find time to pop out with the camera if I have a rough idea when to go.

Thanks

Andy
