I know he can't help being such a media tart getting in all the photos. Good show actually at St John, layout ran faultlessly, have to say it has take about four shows to get it to that stage, but it was a joy to be able to run the trains and not chase the derailment :P

I hope your layout is going well all the same :)

Afternoon All

A quick update , Alsager are hosting their annual exhibition this weekend , 04/05 Nov , this will be last time Hassell Harbour Bridge will be displayed , After this weekend playing trains it shall remain in the club rooms as our permanent layout .

After 25 years and many changes , and that goes for the operating crew as well  ( we are all getting older ) , the decision was taken we would depart the exhibition circuit at our venue , it has been a real pleasure exhibiting the layout up and down the country , and we are sorry we could not fulfill our commitments to all the shows that have invited us .

So please do come along to this weekends show , to give us a fond farewell , there will be no paying off banner as Royal Navy tradition dictates , just a bunch of happy railway modelers paying their last respects.

Of course you could always visit us in the club rooms , and even try your locos out .

  Farewell Hassell Harbour Bridge .

Good Morning,

Over the past few weeks there has been some discussion as to the way forward with the layout.

The wiring and control panel are now finished to an extent which shall enable us to remove the fiddle yard and insert the new station board.

This should hopefully be done in the next few weeks ready for our next open day. The next task shall be to focus on the scenic work and how the land around the station shall be built up and urbanised.

Good Evening,

Just a short written update with what has been happening down the club. Last night we removed the old fiddle yard boards. We also took the opportunity to place the new station boards in. It does mean that we won't have any running for the next 2-3 weeks but the layout should be ready for those who are attending the next open day.

Good Afternoon,

Last night we had our first running session through the new station boards. There were a few issues thrown up but these should be all ironed out before the open day.

The trains looked well running on the fast lines and around the platforms. I did not take many photos but here are a few of the boards in situ with stock.

Good Evening,

We were down the club again this afternoon with a few more trains to run and the electronics/programming whiz kid Kevin who managed to sort some of the programming issues and servo problems we faced on Friday evening. The layout again ran smoothly. We have also recovered the point work off the old corner board to reuse. This does now mean there is no going back and the station is there to stay.

  • Benjamin Brady changed the title to Hassell Harbour Bridge/Station

Good Evening All,

I have neglected this topic for sometime now. The layout is still plodding along despite all the problems in the world. The club had been closed for sometime but has recently opened for it only close again this week. However the short term opening has allowed us all to be able to run some stock and progress the layout a little.

There is still a long way to go with the scenery on the layout and what we are going to add. The station building has been painted. I've a few photos and shall add more when the club reopens.

  • Benjamin Brady changed the title to Hassell Harbour Bridge/Station Open Day Sunday 19th September

Afternoon,

It has been decided that we shall once again open up our club for an 0 gauge open day on Sunday 19th Sept 2021. This shall follow the format of our other open days. We shall have the layout running in DC or DCC so please feel free to bring along any 0 gauge stock you wish to run. Even if it just a loco we should have carriages or wagons available.

It gives us all a chance to run stock and anyone who is interested to see the progress being made on the new layout.

As always there is refreshments available at the club house.

The address is

Moorhouse Avenue

Alsager

Stoke-on-Trent

Staffs

ST7 2DH

We look forward to seeing you there

Benjamin
