RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted February 2, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 2, 2019 Friday morning did not start well here Cleared some snow and managed to squeeze Freshwater into the new, smaller car, and set off north. No snow north of Oxford. One stop for a late lunch and recharge the electric car. Arrived at Stafford, layout set up, and ..... No stock box. Luckily I have my Terriers, and 4 odd wagons. Anyone coming to Stafford, please can I borrow some wagons?
RMweb Gold Argos Posted February 2, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 2, 2019 Hi Ian, I'm coming to Stafford tomorrow but all my wagons have microtrain's couplers, so I suspect would be of little use?
RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted February 2, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 2, 2019 Managed to find half a dozen odd wagons in the dark corners of our toolboxes, so just about got away with it today. Also found a nice display stand for one of my Terriers 9 3

RMweb Premium Llangerisech Posted February 19, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 19, 2019 Hi, I should point out that the little blue fella only appeared when the audience had an average age below 10 years. Even then we had a 3 year old rivet counter asking where were Annie and Clarabel!! We had a good show. Thanks to David as usual plus Tom on Saturday and Matt and Hilary on the Sunday. Hilary has posted a great video on Youtube you can see below. Cheers Nigel

RMweb Premium Llangerisech Posted February 19, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 19, 2019 Hi Nick, It is a Peco item which has been modified so heavily that many folk fail to recognise it! The carrying wheels have been added to the bridge and were plastic wheels from Langley with the flanges removed. The handrails use the original stanchions with new n/s rails threaded through 0.3mm holes. The rails are the normal ones leaning outwards and therefore gauge correctly by fluke. The well is spray painted before the Scalescenes brick paper is added round the edge. The mechanism uses a clearbox and mecano gears with microswitches triggered by a sub-baseboard disc and positionanable brass lumps. It was heavily inspired by a certain Mr Greenwood, but as ever, us mere mortals never quite understand everything he does, so just have to copy what we can and hope! Cheers Nigel 2

Rammstein2609
Hi All Ketton Cement is at the Bonnybridge Show this weekend. Today was a good day with a good mix of interest in the layout, perhaps helped by the toy soldiers hidden in the trees as part of the kids activity. I’ve also decided that it’s time to retire the layout after the next two shows. It’s time to focus on the next project so Ketton Cement will be bow out after the Barrow show in October. If you’re at the Bonnybridge Show this weekend pop by and say hello. Thanks Martin 12
RMweb Gold bcnPete Posted April 28, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 28, 2019 Put in a shift helping Nigel on Llangerisech at the NESCOT show yesterday and had an enjoyable day out. The layout behaved itself all day, with only operator error accounting for any inconsistencies Attached is a pic of the bike parked by the station...photographed so we could zoom in and read the text that none of us could read with 20:20...superb modelling...
RMweb Gold TomE Posted June 9, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 9, 2019 A very enjoyable Saturday helping out on the Wadebridge & Padstow sections of John Greenwood’s epic North Cornwall layout at the equally excellent Warminster show! RMweb Gold Popular Post TomE Posted October 21, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 21, 2019 Lambourn was at Uckfield this past weekend, positioned so that the sun coming through the window was giving some nice natural lighting! Not strictly 2mm FS, but a highlight of the show was Blueball Summit. A beautiful layout. Tom. 18 1
RMweb Premium 65179 Posted October 21, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 21, 2019 Foxcote New Pit also made an appearance at the Cardiff show. Jerry and Kim made the mistake of letting some dodgy local play trains. As a result Rowsley's 44046 found itself very lost: Simon
Yorkshire Square
I spent the day playing trains at Leeds Model Railway Exhibition. In addition to St Ruth, there was also John Aldrick’s Ivybridge; very picturesque. Thanks to the chaps on St Ruth for inviting me along; John, Andy, Ian and Steve. 15
Graham R
Aberdeen MRC held their annual show this weekend and there was a strong 2mm presence. Mick Simpson had made the journey to the real north east with Callaton and seemed to be enjoying himself: Every time I see Callaton it has a few more details. This time it was the back gardens next the lineside. The fiddle yard: Mick's cameo layout was a contrast to the 2mmSA's Grampian area group's "Dunallander" layout, appearing for the first time in public as a work-in-progress. Dunallander was the home layout of the late Neil Ballantine, a well-known 2mm modeller and producer of scale 2mm steam locomotive wheels. Over the last couple of years the Grampian group has undertaken the challenging task of building new hidden trackage and starting to produce the structures and scenery to complete the layout. The project is described on their website: https://2mmgrampianareagroup.blogspot.com/ Here are a couple of shots to give an idea of Dunallander's size: Mike Rasmussen has produced a series of beautifully-modelled card buildings for the layout: this partly-complete terraced row is one example: There are many more shots of Dunallander at Aberdeen here: http://2mmfcag.blogspot.com/2019/10/dunallander-at-aberdeen-mrc-show.html Regards Graham Edited October 27, 2019 by Graham R Spelling ... 12
