Sentinel 0-4-0 No. 6515 Isebrook

I've just bought a Warren Shepard set of etches to build an O gauge Y1/2 Sentinel. I'd like to do the ex-GWR #12 preserved at Bucks Railway Centre.

So, has anyone got any good photos of it they could post here for me? - I've found this set on Flickr

and of course the two on the BRC website.

Cheers

Ian

Cheers Robert, what I really need now is a shot of the left hand side - especially the vacuum pipe runs. A good shot of the roof would be nice too, but that might be a bit tricky!

Just remembered - I also would love a good close up shot of the side next to the door, there is possibly a numberplate and a red plate of some sort

cheers

It might be easier for you to have a ride up to Leeds and 54 is in the works at present with the body off the chassis. I'll have a look through my shots from when 54 was last running to see if I took any from high up. On a Saturday there are plenty of folks in the workshop so we can escort you to have a good look at the frames.

Dad printed a copy of the detailled drawing in the Sentinel history book, pinned it onto a noticeboard and since then folks are using it as a GA for the work in progress.

Thanks for that, and backs up what I thought - no two Sentinels are the same! That pic shows a really high filler that matches the one supplied with the Meteor castings. Isebrook has (currently) a lower filler that is more in keeping with the MR model.

Wish I had time to spare to visit, but with two autistic boys weekends are VERY busy ;)

The one on the water tank side is the whistle, the 2 on the other side most likely are safety valve vent lines, from memory anyway. (That's what my swag is, based on location & steam leakage...)

I like the fireman, good on getting someone who appears younger than me to be the fireman. Dad started on the Sentinel at 10, mind that was a little while ago now !. (he had me driving 2" models by age 7, so who am I to complain?)

HTH,

James

Thanks,

I zoomed in on Robert's excellent pics and some suitable brass tube will be applied today. I'm hoping to get a nice turned whistle from the Derby Show this weekend, along with some brake shoes.

Here's my model as it stands this morning

Will post more detail to my modelling blog soon :)

That is looking good. As you are in a large scale do the frames have the letters indicating where Sentinel got the metal for the frames from? But when looking at the 305mm:1' this lettering easily vanishes when painted black.
