2012 scratchbuild competition - AA motorcycle and sidecar and AA phonebox

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

My third entry compliments my country garage. As stated above it is an AA motorcycle and sidecar and an AA phonebox.

The motorcycle was made by butchering a bicycle.

1 The seat and handle bars were cut of.

2 The seat was repositioned lower down.

3 Then an engine and fuel tank were made from small scraps of balsa.

4 Two small strips of styrene were added to the left of the bike, these are for strength ans for something to glue the sidecar to

5 The sidecar was made from some balsa, cut to size and shape. The wheel was made from trimming a small sliver of a chocolate block connector.

6 A small piece of 1mm wire was cut a and bent to make the mudguard.

7 A piece of wire was used to form some handlebars.

8 Then the bike was painted black, the sidecar was painted yellow and the fuel tank was picked out in yellow too.

9 The logos were added.

10 Finally the sidecar was glued to the motorbike.

And " et viola " I was done.

Or was I ? :nono:

Then the day after I thought. I should make one of those AA phone boxes to go with it.
