Worlsey Works N gauge Class 22

Recommended Posts

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (or so it feels) I decided I wanted an N gauge Class 22. The only real option is a Worlsey Works scratch-aid "kit". So, I bought one and made a start on first ever all-metal construction. After a burst of energy in the first day, it looked like this:

After a rapid flurry of activity that was never again to be repeated, after only a couple more days it looked like this:

Then there was a long lull in activity: in the past twelve months I did at least manage to spray it, and add decals. However it wasn't until this Easter weekend that I finally finished the detailing.

The side windows and quarter lights are so new that the Glue 'n Glaze hasn't even set! The cab windows are too large for Glue 'n Glaze to take properly, so I'll have to come up with another solution there. It's currently temporarily sat on a Poole-era Graham Farish Class 20 chassis.

The only slight downside is that the method I used to seal the weathering powder has left a rather mottled appearance, to which I'd like to find a solution. I don't want to spray over the top just to find it simply seals in the mottled finish!

Nice work - Have you seen Andy D869's blog on his detailed build?...also featured in the 2mmFS mag this month.

I did see his early posts but I lost track of it, so I'll go catch up with the rest. He was a bit quicker than I was!
