It was a part built kit I got from a show at Hayle show last your, the chassis was white metal so I put that in the spares box and got Comet chassis

Well now that the Q1 build has finished apart from a very heavy weathering later this month, l am getting on with the two other Bulleids in the to do pile, the first is a west country rebuilt with a 4500 gallon cut down tender, and the other will be a rebuilt Battle of Britain with a 5500 gallon tender, both are early David Andrew kits...…(2006)

Superb work as usual George.

I do like the Q1 - ones of those ugly but oddly endearing ,,,,

Hello Richard, They certainly had a weird  fascination  for me when you could see a few on shed at guildford in 62, happy days...

33024 Returns for a light dusting...

Looks great George.

Despite "missing bits" (was this the fault of the kit or a careless previous owner?) would you still recommend MOK if I want a Q1?

Bit of both Buddy most of the brake gear was missing and had to be scratch built and parts of the tender were also missing, the kit was made in 2006, so l hope its been up dated by now, but yes you can still make a convincing  loco..

She's looking very good George, but can't you convince the owner to have a PROPER heavy weathering job with lots of rust and streaks etc?
