spenc Posted April 17, 2012 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Hi EveryoneThis is my new layout as i used to model in 00 i have now bit the bullet and gone up a gauge.I have got a class 33 kit which i am building and a southern signal kit nearly built.Yesterday built 3 baseboards to give a total space of 15ft x 1ft 6in max area i can play with.Hopefully its going to be a terminus station with 3rd rail so i can run 2EPBs & 2HAPs.With a small goods yard set in 80s/ early 90s.Still got to play about with track plan could only get 4 lengths of track & 2 points as thats all Buffers had so could be a trip to peco.The wife has told me this is the last one i can do she said i am banned from buying modeling mags & going on RMweb because i see something & want to change mine Heres some pictures of wots been done so far any comments welcomeSteve Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm sure many of us have been there and (sort of) survived. Brave soul going 7mm but an 08 is a great temptation to make the jump. terminus station with 3rd rail so i can run 2EPBs & 2HAPs.With a small goods yard set in 80s/ early 90s. Nah! go green and blue 70's, a nice 2 car Hampshire or dare I mention 121 unit, a couple of 33's, a Hymek(!). Will get the popcorn out on this one. New arrival came today Heljan class 33 connected 3 lengths of track runs great.So its well done to Tower models at the door in less than 24hrs.got to get some number transfers wot number to give it ? spenc Posted April 27, 2012 Author Share Posted April 27, 2012 Hi Stephen Funny you should say that when i first put the boards up i joined some track together wired it up sent the 33 down Dc controller i used not as good as my DCC Gaugemaster stopped about 10cm away from tv.Just see on insurance claim tv hit by a class 33.Hopefully more track will be laid soon so i can crack on with the layout. spenc Posted May 20, 2012 Author Share Posted May 20, 2012 Hi Darren NSE DAZ The 33's are great.The PRMRP 33 is taking longer than i expected to build so its been put aside while i build my first dmu its a 121 easy build. still not put any more track down still waiting for my order from local model shop.Platform edge & station lamps& waiting shelter arrived from Skytrex.Heres some pictures of wots been done so far any comments welcome. spenc Posted May 23, 2012 Author Share Posted May 23, 2012 Hi everyone finaly got the rest of my track & point having to go to peco to get it so laid & wired and tested while having a play and putting platform on as a terminus then moving it as a through station.If i go for the latter there will be a 3ft fiddle yard at each end and 9ft of scenic i have dropped the 3rd rail in favour DMUs 121/108s & 33s/ 31.Moving the area to devon with a few china clay wagons.Name change as well ?.Heres some pictures any tips or ideas welcome. double going to fiddle yard far right short siding. waiting shelter. two car platform. Good to see you have made more progress with the track laying, its coming together nicely. I like the idea of the through platform but what about making it single track into the 3' FY. The station area could then be a passing loop too? Or maybe have the station as a terminus but with the freight line continuing? The single track could be to a private china clay siding and the wagons are left in the short siding for the works 08 to collect and return. almost an excuse to leave the 33 ticking over awaiting the returned wagons. spenc Posted May 27, 2012 Author Share Posted May 27, 2012 Hi Everyone Bit of a update built two bridges first one i started makes first side looked good then realised i made it to 4mm scale not 7mm started again got some slaters stone plastic card put it on did not look right.Scraped that thinking what to cover it with looking through scalescenes web sight down loaded their stone paper looks alright.Lined up the platform edges.Heres some pictures any comments welcome. spenc Posted June 10, 2012 Author Share Posted June 10, 2012 Hi bcnpete & pwr Its starting to take shape now. the bridges i did look at a book i got a few years ago on the tarka trail past & present.So sort of got the jist from lapford.The view looking towards the two single arch bridge will be left hand track is a freight line to a clay works & right hand line is for up/down passenger.Single up/down platform with a run loop & small siding.When Dapol brings out there 08 that will collect clay hoods from loop or siding.33,31 will run round at station.Next stage is to get backscene on & start ballesting.Thanks for your comments.The DMU just got to had few more bits then it will be ready for the primer thats if the fuel tank stays on.
