When the real thing looks like a model

Recommended Posts

The structures could be Walthers and the stock from any of the major manufacturers.

Nobody makes a GP20C-ECO yet, though ☺. (Lead unit)

Unusual picture of a model locoshed, taken from the Corgi Diaries page.

Didn't think they had Hi-Viz in steam days though.

they've not painted their kit-build Mersey EMU yet either

First job ought to be ballasting the track.

Ref the brake van at Bury it could be said that restoration to ex works condition (or better) can often appear like a model.

It's not the condition so much as the moulded handrails that give it away as Lima's finest :D.

Buses on the bridge, 2D painted sky, questionable bridge geometry/ perspective and the owner has had to touch up some paintwork on his prized jubilee.

Pretty certain that is a Train Save street lamp on the bridge too.

Wild Boar Fell

Notice the figure (just behind the loco buffer) indicating the location of an uncoupling magnet?

Spotted this one the other day,

http://www.gwr813.org/pagept2A.html

Looks like something created over on the 'Imaginary Locomotives' thread, pretty decent photo plank (nice and simple).

Typically has a drystone wall to hide the backscene to baseboard joint, been there done that...

Wild Boar Fell

Looks a bit quirky with the GWR boiler on an American bar frame.

Perhaps less quirky when you take into account the American influence on Churchward's standards, especially the smokebox and half saddle front ends.

The Barry Railway was another South Wales concern that bought out from the US, their locos also being rebuilt by Swindon.

Looks like a 56xx on steroids.......

Very realistic apart from fake exhaust from the 37

And the totally unrealistically weathered MMA box wagon.......

Some straight out of the box posed models! Obviously these 3 famous train headboards would never be seen together in REAL life. The Hornby white fencing is a bit bright too. :jester:

Not sure whether to click Like or Craftmanship/Clever. The Faller people look well painted.  :jester:
