"How to fill a corner"

Artfully conceals that  just inside the tunnel mouth there's a really tight curve to the fiddle yard round the back of those houses.

Never leave a square inch empty if you can fill it with sidings.

Excellent backscene.

Putting a house right over the tunnel just isn't realistic - you can even see that it's low-relief as well. :mosking:

That grass mat on the left looks like a mowed lawn, pretty unlikely on an embankment! should look much more unkempt and overgrown on an eighties layout?

A drive through McDonalds is now under construction where the cement wagons/sidings are...

They must have been made by the lady doing the tree-making demo at Howden show!

Coincidence huh!

How was the show Steve? Sorry but I couldn't make it, other things took precedent this weekend.

Set track points and curves on the Hakone Tozan RailwayIMG_20190405_141938237_HDR.jpg.29de179f5db53bd7fb25eab80a1fbae0.jpg

Apparently the tightest curve on the route is 30m radius, which I worked out to be pretty much 1st radius at 1:76. Would be even tighter in HO.

Oddly it's a standard gauge mountain railway in a country with narrow gauge railways (shinkansen excepted).

So if you like making spectacular landscapes and scratch building rolling stock, but want to use up some trainset track, here's your inspiration. It's even got switchbacks and an 8% (1 in 12.5) gradient.
