Short circuit somewhere or the motor's stuck and about to burn out!

Rather a nice example of what one can do with an outdoor photo diorama. It's a pity the weathering on the pannier's been fouled up, and that the smoke effect's rather unconvincing. I'll pass our artist on that obvious HO scale American freight car, for that's good weathering, and he obviously starting out with what models he could find cheap. Probably just got into railway modeling from Warhammer, and I can't fault him for that.

Also an object lesson in why you shouldn't use gloss paint on your figures.;)

Excellent track and weathering with a nice & sunny but slightly cheesy nicked-from-a-BOC brochure backscene.

Let down by the clunky over-detailed bogies and unrealistic overhang at each end where the tension-locks have been cut off.

These N gauge models are just getting better all the time aren't they...?

Typical lack of forward planning by the layout builder though, when he add the fourth, right-hand side track later, and realised he had only built his bridge wide enough for three....

Talking of bridges - why isn't there a bus on it?? :jester:

If only Dapol’s N gauge hoover looked as good as that one :scratchhead:

What are the odds on them even doing that version?

Refurbished all over blue, only a few locos that it could be, as large logo became the norm....

I think there were six like that so probably not very likely. Mind you, they’re doing 50149 in Railfreight triple grey and there was obviously only one of them.

50017 (running as 50117) also carried 3TG, but only in preservation !!

Cheers,

Phil.

The Vac in the photo is actually '007 in it's green phase, notice the white handrails on the front of the cab, I think the photo dates from 1984 / 85, it's probably on one of the vac braked Oxford or Newbury commuter jobs ;).

(The six blue refurbished ones were 001, 006, 013, 017, 019 and 047)
