Don’t worry about the kitchen, lounge room, dining room, and any sort of living space.

Hammock under the board, tap outside for drinking and an endless supply of tinned food and you’ll be sweet!

Can't see that one getting past SWMBO -  she did ask for a hammock once, but not necessarily of the sub-baseboard variety.

Hi Dave looking mint there,

Out of interest how did you do the chimney and dome? Skimmed back couldn’t see it?

Also what filler do you use?

 Cheers

The Chimney, Safety Valve and tank fillers were 3D printed, I resized the 4mm ones and used Shapeways before they had their price revision.

The filler is a Humbrol one I picked up in a Hobbycraft, seems to be ok and does fine work without too much bother.

That is a very nice looking model. However, is there a reason for putting the connecting rods on the wrong way up? I hope they can easily be swapped over - with crossheads attached - to ensure the oil doesn't all drain out of the lubrication pots.

Regards

I'll now re-prime with some etching primer and start painting, Smokebox, firebox, coal area & cab floor in black and the rest in a light red as she is now in Didcot.

If anyone else feels like some madness I've a pile of parts left over that should be suitable for WTC No5, I've split them up into 2 lots and if anyone is interested send me a PM with an offer (large or small lot)

Interesting, looks like a loco stud is forming, or perhaps a retirement business opportunity

Hi Dave looking mint there,

Soon be running up and down your 7mm track!

With your addiction to small loco’s I happened across this. Not GNR but your area. Not even sure of the age of the loco from the caption.

“Simply stunning! And that applies both to the image itself and to the exhibition finish of the engine with its accompanying coach. This is a Y5 0-4-0T designed by Neilson Reid way back in 1874. This loco, no. 7230, outlasted the other five class members by some 17 years and is seen here on exhibition at Lowestoft on June 9th, 1938. 7230 became a Stratford works shunter and was withdrawn in 1948.
The NRM web site informs us that this is a former Eastern Counties Railway 1st class carriage dating from 1851.

That's a lovely picture Ade, (and a superb model Jonathan)  I know very little about the Eastern although I think I've got a drawing for that or similar carriage.

Shannon is being painted (so far so good) so I'm doing a bit of bench clearing & cleaning, I'm also awaiting some test etches for another project.
