DCC Concepts DCP150 motors

Hi Has anyone had any experience of using the above with the Fleischmann Piccolo turnouts - the ones with the track ballast? I would be interested in knowing if this can be done as I would like to hide the point motors under the track. i know that the Fleischmann turnouts can be reversed, but I am using a preformed layout base and this is not an option.

Other suggestions most welcome !

Thanks

Alex

Alex,

Could you post a picture of the underside of the turnout. I have had a quick look on the web and from what I can tell the tie bar appears to be driven through the ballast. I suggest that there is a slot there. If there is its a simple case of removing the mechanics from the bottom of the point, drilling a 0.5mm hole through the tie bar and then utilising them in the same way that a standard point is used with a cobalt.

Other wise, If you are not keen then looking at the arm that moves the point, It may be possible to drill a hole in that and then put the actuating rod through that hole and operate it from under the board.

Regards,

Owen
