Basingstoke Open Day and Swap Meet - 22/09/2012

The Basingstoke and North Hampshire Model Railway Society was founded 40 years ago and so the Club has decided to celebrate this event during the Annual Open Day. As in previous years the Club opens the doors of the Club Hut for visitors to enjoy club and member's layouts in an informal atmosphere - generally we have more layouts than can be accomodated in the clubroom and so we spill over into the adjacent Scout Hut. This year, as part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations, there is going to be a cake cutting plus a Swap Meet (to be held in the Kempshott village hall)

Club Hut, Scout Hut and Village Hall are all in Stratton Park which is accessed off of Pack Lane, Basingstoke, RG22 5HN.

Please see the corresponding entry in the RMW Calender for details of opening times and admission charge:- http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/calendar/event/641-basingstoke-club-open-day-and-swap-meet/

thank you Graham Beare

All going to plan... although there is some interesting discussion as to the size of the cake! (or cakes...)

The Open Day is being held over three halls, all are within sight of each other and in Stratton Park, Basingstoke, see this RMWeb entry for details.

Most of the layouts on display are to be in the Scout Hut. Current Club projects are to be in the Club Hut. The Swap Meet is to be in Kemphsott Village Hall.

Traders for the Swap Meet are coming along nicely, there may be space for one or two further traders so if you know of a trader who is free on the 22nd September and might like to attend then please contact me here or via PM.

Two days to go - most important item has been dealt with today.

Cake .

Chocolate cake.

Ginormous Chocolate cake.

Several of them.

I hope that some RMWeb-members will come along and offer opinions on the layouts under construction.

regards, Graham
