ac1874
There will be a forum member posting a none solder build of the kit during the next week, so keep an eye out. Pete Any idea when this post is coming?
Pete Harvey
Unfortunately I have no idea of exactly when the posting will be as that is out of my control but it will be worth it as the person who is using the kit has never failed to deliver a superb model in the past. ac1874
Ok, cool. Do you have any plans to produce an etch with the V shaped grill as per the Anglia 90s?
43179
Any idea when this post is coming? Might be worth keeping an eye on Geore Dents Blog : http://georgedentmodelmaker.blogspot.co.uk/search?updated-max=2012-12-05T07:48:00Z&max-results=1 - as he's got one - doesn't say if its going to be soldered or glued but either way the prep work on the body shell should be the same. Pete Harvey
Thank you Jon But I'm not referring to Georges build as that one will be featured in a forth coming issue of Model Rail Magazine. Pete
Multiple identity account 2
Are the Hornby Class 87 Brecknell Willis pantographs available as spares? These are a vast improvement over the older pans we know and hate from the ageing Class 86/90. Many a time I've tried contacting Hornby about the spare Class 87 pantographs. I even contacted their other 'spares and service dealers' but it's no use. Hornby only have the Javelin, eurostar and their chunky pantos as spares. I even needed one for the Pendolino - but can't get that also. Hurst models hasn't had their pantograph kits in stock for ages now. Wouldn't it be easier if Hornby had just used the 87's pan on their 90's??

Peters Spares on Ebay have the Class 92 Pantographs for sale and come in packs of two.. theyre not too bad, although the upper arm looks a bit weird... im going to be looking at what can be done to improve them NL
Multiple identity account 2
They do???? Thats mighty good news to me. I think the upper arm needs to be straightned - maybe if I try heating it a little bit and straightning it or something like that
Andy Y
The OT posts can remain in topic as they came out of a question directed towards PH.
Multiple identity account 2
Can anyone tell me what are the parts circle in 1, 2 and 3 for? I'm guessing 3 is for the headlights...but what are the others for? Window surrounds or something like that.
Pete Harvey
Jeremiah The parts circled in No: 1 were described for you in post 88, the parts in No: 2 are dividers and in No: 3 are spacers for the lights. Pete
Multiple identity account 2
Oh sorry I forgot I asked you that in post 88. Thanks Pete.
Multiple identity account 2
What glue can be used for this kit? Any specific one needed or will and strong bonding agent do the trick. Any news on the person who will be posting the topic - have I missed it somewhere?
Pete Harvey
The recommended method of assembly is soldering but it can also be built using superglue. As for the call 90 build when it's posted it will not be in this thread. Pete
Multiple identity account 2
Hey Pete, I tried contacting you via the email provided on the website but I haven't got a reply for months now (tried again today) so I'll just put forth my suggestion here. Can you do etches for the two grills on the roof and the grills on the body. The body side grills on the Hornby model are over-sized so would you consider doing these etches? In total I'm guessing it would be 2 grills for the roof and 6 on the body. Jeremiah.

Ian Fisher
Jeremiah, Think twice before posting silliness, doesnt make you look big or clever. You asked the forum had anyone used the kit and I replied. I made a decision and invested my money to get one. If a product looks good, that's what I do. If its of poor quality or manufacture I dont. I dont though adopt the keyboard warior tack of calling people or products down. That isnt a positive way to do things. Ian I What are you talking about?? Still acting silly over that last topic you were in or what?
icn
Has anyone actually used the kit?? I've got the kit, but am a bit too bogged down with exams/studying at the moment to work on it (and also need to get some solder to assemble the parts as I wasn't satisfied by my attempts at gluing metal pieces together). Andy Y
I What are you talking about?? Still acting silly over that last topic you were in or what? That's somewhat unnecessary Jeremiah. Keep to the subject matter please.
Ian Fisher
As discussed with Mr Harvey at the Stafford show, I have an extensive collection of 90's and have been considering for some considerable time improvements both cosmetic and functional to the 90.....so maybe its time I documented them in another thread? Just to clarify my thread isnt the one Pete mentions further up the thread. Ian

Ian Ian, yes please. My son is constantly badgering me to start on his; I'm constantly on the look out for a Bachmann 42 chassis and need to make a start, so a thread would be useful ;-)
