CaseyJ
Can anyone please tell me if there is a convention diagram for wiring a 5 pin DIN plug connection to a controller. I have several handheld controllers, Modelex, Gaugemaster and H&M. The first Modelex and the Gaugemaster I purchased came fitted with 5 pin DIN plugs but they are wired in different ways. I know it is only a matter of resoldering them but before i do does anybody know if there is a correct way. I seem to remember Roger Amos had drawn a diagram in his Electronics for Model Railways book many years ago but I haven't got a copy now.

CaseyJ
Thanks for your quick response. It is interesting to see your colour code as well. My Gaugemaster is wired similar to your drawing but the red and black track outputs are reversed. The Modelex has blue and yellow connected to the DPDT switch inside the unit obviously to power the track but connected to one pin either side of the centre.
