His secondman that day was Les Eltringham and the Traction Inspector for the trip was Bill Andress, their day started with them using D1015 coupled to D1028 'Western Hussar' (in maroon livery and manned by an Old Oak crew) going light engine from Old Oak to Reading where D1028 was left as the standby loco for the day. They then went light to Hanborough to work the Empty stock back to Padd...
