Seanem44
I just bought the GCR station set for my (hopefully) soon to be built layout. The pieces are gorgeous. Upon taking out the canopy portion, I noticed (as is the case with some resin model) the canopy shelter is warped a little, bending downward. Doesn anyone have experience with this. Is there a fix? Maybe the US Summer mailbox heat caused it. Maybe a little heat can move it back, Any help would be appreciated. It is lovely though. Bravo Bachmann. RMweb Gold TomE Posted August 23, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 23, 2012 I've read that submerging resin cast buildings in near boiling water (insert appropriate health and safety warning) will soften the material slightly and allow it to be straightened. I can't put my finger on the thread but if I'll find it I'll post a link to it. Tom EDIT: Found it! http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/880/entry-10060-remediating-resin-structures-–-notably-Hornby-skaledale-and-Bachmann-scenecraft/ Tom

BernardTPM
You could try boiling water from a kettle* poured over just the affected area. That should make the process safer than total immersion. * A proper kettle on a stove is best, one that won't annoying turn itself off as soon as it gets vaguely hot.
