The Class 20 Loco Society are repoting that the run to Quainton Road has been postponed due to refurbishment work on the 4TC set. http://class20locosociety.co.uk/events

 

London Transport Class 20 Heritage Special - To Be Confirmed

The original April date for the London Transport Special train has been postponed, due to refurbishment work to the TC Stock. The train will be re-schedued later in the year hauled by 20142 and 20227 both in LT red livery, to include mainline running in the Chilterns. Full details of route and ticketing to be announced shortly.

Back in summer 2014 we had the pleasure of sharing Northfields shed with the LU heritage train during the H&C Line 150 specials:

According to the facebook event, Met 1 is planned to be in use at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre's Gala on 30th April and 1st May alongside:

  • visitor LSWR 30120
  • GWR 9466
  • Andrew Barclay 699, 'Swanscombe'
  • Bagnall 2469, Fraser & Chalmers Engineering Works V75
  • Hudswell Clarke 1742, 'Millom'
  • Hunslet 3890, NCB 66

LNWR 3020 Cornwall will be on display.

 

Bus connections from Aylesbury Vale Parkway on 30th April and the last chance to ride to Quainton Road on a Class 121 DMU shuttle from Aylesbury on 1st May.

Departure day - Met 1 leads the heritage train out of Northfields Depot with No. 12 Sarah Siddons and L150 bringing up the rear.

According to the latest Heritage Railway Magazine, Steam On The Met will be one weekend (9 & 10 September) between Harrow & Amersham. Steam locos are Met 1 & GWR 9466.

 

The second weekend has been cancelled due to engineering work at Ruislip Depot.

 

Also if the work on the 4TC set is completed in time, it'll be will be used for the Swanage - Wareham service from mid June.

Met 1 running dates at Epping Ongar Railway in June are 17 & 18 (alongside the DMU) and the Victorian Weekend on 24 & 25 (alongside GWR 6430 and class 20 D8001). Info from http://eorailway.co.uk/your-visit/whats-running/

  • 20227 will spend the summer at the North Norfolk Railway, arriving in time for the Diesel Gala on 9 - 11 June and will be used for the Cromer Diner trains.
  • 20142 (plus 20189 & class 44 D8) will also visit the North Norfolk Railway Diesel Gala before returning to the Midland Railway, Butterley in time for the Diesel Gala the following weekend. Though it is not confirmed that 20142 will be used at MRB.
  • 20142 (& 20189) will be on hire to London Underground on contract work from late June for 10 weeks. During this time 20142 will visit the Epping Ongar Railway for the London Transport Weekend on 14 & 15 July, alongside Met 1 (and class 20 D8001).

Reading RTT the movements from Butterley to Matlock (taking 20189 to Peak Rail) and Matlock to Derby (picking up class 44 D8) ran. The movement from Derby to Sheringham didn't.
