Hello RM web

Sorry I have been away in recent months but now I have some spare time I thought I would post some pictures on how Arpley Street has progressed since the last update on the old RM web.

I have been working on the electrics and now 3 of my 8 points are fitted with motors and wired up ready for the Hornby Poont decoder which I am buying next week when my local model shop reopens after the Christmas break.

I Have some new stock

>Bachmann class 66 66200 -awaiting a decoder

>Hornby class 56 56003-awaiting decoder

>Hornby class 156-awaiting decoder

So no operating sesions for the time being! <_<

Anyway Here are some of the latest images

Has anyone noticed there is an MR 0-4-0 on a plinth in the station car park-a novelty which is suppose to be a memorial to the railway heritage of the area-makes good use for a redundant loco![/font]

Hello again

As school was closed becuse of the snow I thought I would take advantage of the spare time and get some work done on the layout.I have added a few more droppers from the BUS to the track in blackspots where the power sometimes dropped. Also I weathered my 5th HEA and painted the water tower in a rust colour so it looks more realistic.

Here are a few pictures showing 66200 and 56003 on freight workings and all 3 of my DCC loco fleet stabled at the depot, also an images showing the imporved water tower.

also I have removed one of my stations platforms and bridge as well as making the remaining platform a more gentle curve. This work is in preperation for my plan to build an overall roof from scratch and a better second platform from plasticard.I got the inspiration from Wakefield Kirkgate.

More pcitures soon,Comments welcome as usual.

Hello

Since last friday I have been working on building my new station from plasticard.I have built the second platform and have almost finished the overall roof .The roof it structurally finished and only requires the plastic 'glass' and signs/weathering.

Here are some pictures showing the work.

They show the basic platform frame, supporting walls for the roof, the kit-bashed bridge, and the roof sections which were joined together to make a single roof.

Comments welcome. B)

The last pictures show how the station looks at the moment.

Hi again

I have spent this morning lifting the track entirely. This is because I am fed up with Hornby points which are always 'touch and go',they derail my larger locos like 66s so I decided its best to remove the track and start again using peco trackwork, peco track worked well on Nashton(my other layout) so I will use it for Arpley Street.

This definately doesnt mean the end of Arpley street-the scenery is safe and once the new track is bought and laid trains will once again be running. :)
