GRUNFOS
Not much progress to report, boards are tucked away till after christmas. Had chance to mess with a class 24 though. Matt varnish and light dusting of black pigment on roof sides. Numbers don't look so bad in the flesh though.
GRUNFOS
Managed to get Polmadie out to take a few shots of the current Wiganish [must get another name sorted] sulzer type 2 fleet. Need at least 2 more early 25's. Have a chassis for one if anyones got a body spare.
GRUNFOS
i have been looking for an oddball livery to put on one of the type 2 fleet, they were all fairly standard early on in TOPS days. The only difference being number positions depending on where they were overhauled. I managed to find a picture of 24 076 in 1976 on the derby sulzers site. It appears there only 2 done like this. Heres my version on Polmadie. cheers Paul

GRUNFOS
Have been wondering how to fill the space at the right hand end where the tracks will come out of the hidden sidings, there will be two road overbridges one single and one double. I wanted to block the view through with something and this may do the trick. A few more general views.

GRUNFOS
Hi, after Polmadies untimely demise under five fully stoked shelves I will now be concentrating on Wiganish. The view from the rear side of the shed was supposed to be uninteresting hence the painting experiments. It was going to be unaccessable due to the fixed backscene, will now make this removeable to give Derby Works / Tinsley type photos to be taken as in the views of 20 032 the newest member of the fleet. This mimics the view taken by Norman Preedy in the 1974 Combine. Have posted original, if I'm breaking any rules I will remove it. Paul

GRUNFOS
Even to a die hard steam fan the quality of the work produced so far is brilliant Wow thanks for that, I try to model within my fairly basic modelling skills. Thats why I always use photos and have set 1976 as a timescale, don't need to use much imagination as the parameters are set. I use loco shed allocation books to get the correct loco for the area modelled. The trackplan ts closely based on the Wigan diesel shed. Thats the easy bit, it has taken over 9 months to find the correct ,for me,shade for the shed brickwork. Heaven knows the trauma ballast and ground texture are going to cause! The shunters cabin has had a coat of the same brick colour as the shed. Will post a shot tomorrow when the paint is dry and windows refitted.
paulprice
Cool I can't wait to see he progress one day I may build up the courage to model a prototypical location rather than a might have been location
