Its a while since I posted videos on here and I forgot that you can't see the comments etc so a bit of explanation.

After Andy's abortive attempts at filming from in the Leeds Liverpool Canal, I have done a couple of setup sequences shot on my iphone. These two are of the Down TCE leaving Leeds behind a Brit.

Another sequence shot on the iphone of a type 2 on a Morecambe/Carnforth working heading towards the Aire Valley through Leeds City Jct.

This was shot whilst I was clearing all stock from the station as the railway will be closed for a while as work on the signal box gets underway.

After Andy's abortive attempts at filming from in the Leeds Liverpool Canal,

..... the camera has been returned to the supplier and a full refund obtained.

It failed completely when I next tried to use it.

I'm gonna be one of the guinea pigs, doing the afternoon shift in Leeds City Junction 'box' :read:

Which will probably result in :punish:

This pic:

Is my :punish: for routing the down TCE back to St Pancras rather than on to Glasgow.........

Hi John, I like the video’s but I can’t quite make out the number on the Brit but I assume it is the same as the one you posted a photograph of in post #740,

may I ask is it an off the shelf Britannia, or kit built? If off the shelf (Hornby) was it easy to modify for EM gauge?

The Brit belongs to Leander (of this parish) I'm sure he'll be along shortly to discuss :)

We often used to see the 'Firth' brits at new year taking the Hogmanay specials north through Settle.  Very boisterous passengers going north on the 30th and much quieter and subdued on the way back south on the 1st and 2nd.

70052 is a Hornby model converted to EM gauge then extensively detailed and weathered by Tim (Easter) also of this parish.

He used the original Hornby wheels mounted on 26mm silver steel axles (from Eileens Emporium) with the bogie, pony truck and tender wheels being Gibsons. The smoke deflectors and the step below the smokebox door are by Mike Edge, AWS gear is from Comet Models and the smokebox door number plate and nameplates are 247 Models products. He improved the original Hornby paint finish and then extensively weathered the loco to the condition it was in as a Corkerhill loco circa 1958. This is what it looked like pre-weathering (photo by Tim).

28053334_10157132740731632_2110095969_n.

It's fitted with a Zimo MX645R decoder and Sugarcube speaker from Digitrains.

authenticity fail alert: that new signal box needs a minimum of 14' of chilly under floor cavity to accurately emulate the drafts coming up from the a locking room. Is there room for a kettle and stove and will LCN Jct beat Loughborough to having a wc? Your making rapid progress as usual John, looking forward to seeing the results.

I don't think anyone has been blamesless yet!  No doubt, when we get all the proper equipment we will find it easier to do the job - that plus a decade or two of experience!

Today I have had my electricians head on. First fixing in the signal box extension and moving strip lights at the front of the layout. Hopefully tomorrow will be insulation and boarding out!
