67A
Evening Mike, The stationmasters house is really coming on - do you envisage any interiors? Kind regards, Jock. Hi Jock, I don't intend to put any interior in at this point however it is one of my long term plans to fully detail the interior of all the buildings as a future task, they will also feature illumination, still plenty to do before then though!

Hi Mike Good idea not to put any interior detail in, Miss Rivette Counteer will tell you that you have put the wrong wallpaper up in the living room. :scratchhead:

Tools down after that I'm afraid.

67A
Hi all, Hope you all had a good Christmas. Been busy doing a few things over the last few days but to start here are some shots from a week or so ago, just did not have a chance to upload them till now... This is the superb rendition of the last Class 24 (24081) in service by 'Rail Exclusive' models. Sadly its not mine :Here is a selection to look at... An absolutely beautiful model which when compared to the Hornby or Bachmann offerings which we all no doubt thought were good in their day there is little comparison. If I ever get one there will be NO Double-Heading! In the opposite direction comes... Class 47 47712 'Lady Diana Spencer' in charge of a fitted freight - completely out of era I know! More later, things to do!

Jock67B
Morning Mike, Good to see some more of your excellent images, look forward to the next batch! Got a hernia operation in Colchester General at 7am on the 31st - what a day to pick for a Scotsman! Not sure how it will affect me but even though it's 'open' surgery under a general anaesthetic, they say I'll come home on the same day so the single malt should be raised to you just as Robert Burns' most popular words ring out at midnight! Happy New Year to you and your family, Kind regards, Jock.
andy stroud
Hi I have just discovered this thread. I think the layout looks superb and really captures the atmosphere of the real location. I particularly like the view of trains passing under the 'coal road' bridge. It looks a great layout to simply watch the trains go past, just like the real Settle and Carlisle! cheers andy

Hi Jock, I know the feeling, I was in at 3pm on the 23rd for the 'camera' (both ends) and had to fast from 1pm the previous day, I have never eaten so much Turkey as I did this year. You take it easy tomorrow and I'll raise my annual intake of Malt thinking of you. All the best to you, Joanne and your family.

You have summed up the raison-d'etre of the layout, I had built so many layouts with complicated trackwork which provided me with plenty of operational interest it was just time to sit back and watch. All the best for 2016!

67A
And so to work! Nice Christmas present in the form of Britannia Pacific 70044 'Earl Haig' my first replacement Brit' as all my previous versions would not run on this finescale track. In 'out of the box' condition Here the detailing kit has been fitted Following a light weathering she (he) is almost ready to join the roster, just real coal and a crew to fit. I also decided to put yellow warning panels on my plain green diesels to bring them more into the early sixties era. A few weeks ago I picked up some 'Dogfish' wagons however three had Olive Green livery with TOPS coding and one was black with TOPS coding so these have also received a repaint.
67A
Another light weathering job which I kept forgetting about was the Blue liveried Class 105# Again just a light touch to remove the plastic look. I have also been carrying on with the Station Masters House This view shows the rendered pair of walls This view shows the original dressed stone pair at the rear. The chimneys have a castellated design below the capping stone so I have made an attempt at replicating it as so. More later or tomorrow guys Edit to remove pics not relevant.
