Straits Settlements
Many thanks, Coachman. I'll try to get some Hornby wheels locally- back-ordered at Hattons, I see. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a couple of Dapol wagon kits recently to find they came supplied with metal wheels. Pity they haven't got round to doing the same for the coach kits. John Further to my last post on this topic, in case it helps anyone. I got some Hornby coach wheels; and yes they seem to run perfectly well in the Airfix/GMR bogies. Result! My local model shop hadn't sufficient stock for me to replace the ones in my unbuilt Dapol kit , so I just tried the Bachmann ones anyway, in a fit of optimism. Lo and behold, they run well, if a little slack. But the plastic ones with the kit are similarly a tad loose. Looks like the Dapol version sof the bogies differ slightly from the earlier ones, wrt to axle drillings. John
jsp3970
Can someone please tell me what the BR number ranges were for these coaches? Have got one of the brakes, numbered M20540, but can't find any info on the numbers for either these or the composites.
