Blue era freightliner

I am looking to model an early 80's BR Blue Freightliner set and was looking for some guidance as to what was available. I know there are lots of modern containers available but are any of these suitable for use/conversion into the earlier era? What if anything is available for the wagons themselves?

Any help appreciated - thanks

John

You'll find the drawings on here http://www.barrowmor.../Prototype.html just right click and save target on the diagram book of your choice then you'll be able to flip through them on screen. The Barrowmore boys populate the 'Finescale Fred' modellers website, just google it and ask them how they're going about their 70s containers.

Not yet available to buy but they will be available from Wild Boar Models http://www.wildboarmodels.co.uk/ along side the rest of the fantastic models he has designed. These are going to be a huge hit with those of us wanting to model 80s containers!

Colin Craigs container flats are nice to build with some really good instructions and really do look the part, but you can't do them in a weekend.  Plus if you are using Peco streamline track, make sure you use the long radius points at a minimum!  It is a shame having built them to then cover them up with containers, if your after some full wagons, then why not detail up some of the old Hornby wagons, with the s-kits conversion and replacement wheels.

I had done an article some years back which appeared in Model Rail doing this conversion, it was done prior to building Colins Kits.

Kevin
