That fourth photo is very clever, a green coach in a black and white photo!

Some great shots Adrian, it really looks good, but that last photo is just so atmospheric, brilliant!

Hi Julian, you are correct, it was stolen from outside the police station. All the best must run now A Grass.

Stolen, beaten-up, entombed and left for dead.  Oh how history repeats, those Wolesely thieves did, indeed, commit a Cardinal Sin.   :sorry:

Regards - as fetching hat, coat and sleeping bag, could be a long cold night.

I know 'enery was profligate wiv 'is wand, but I was certainly not born at the time, absolutely incapable of being party to 'im redefining the chief of the human branch of God's troops, let alone nicking a modern religious Wolesely icon.

You have captured the essential “closeness” of the area’s railways. Trust me, as one who walked much of the track in the area - yes, with trains running - you are very aware of being hemmed in. Atmosphere by the bucketload.

'This area not planned yet' shouts Ewer Street to me. Rather hidden from view by the incline from Met Junction to Blackfriars Junction, it became Southwark Depot, a rather obscure EMU berthing point, but in steam days was a sort of Continental Depot, so perhaps the delivery point for some exotic fruits for Messrs Hartley?

Hi Ian, thank you for the idea, and I am pleased that you think that I have captured some of the atmosphere of the area. All the best Adrian.

Great stuff!

The Metal Box Co building reminds me of that section ( after Lond Bridge)  where the train usually slowed or stopped for a bit on the Dartford to W/loo, Charing X routes..I often went thru that way in the late 70s early 80s...there was a nice Wilcox's Engineering building nearby ( with small loading cranes attached to the building as I recall !)
