blueeighties
Hi Sean. They do seem to be becoming increasingly popular, not really my cup of tea, but happy to oblige if it pays the mortgage

blueeighties
Let there be light! I have been fitting some rakes of coaches with illumination. As a rather annoying advert on the goggle box says, the masking alone on this project is proving 'epic' Another batch of 37's about to hit the paintshop.

emt_911
Lee The coach lighting looks spot on. Maybe you ought to start thinking of charging for master classes in the workshop. Duncan
blueeighties
Cheers guys. Funny you should say that Duncan, the idea of some introduction to airbrushing classes had crossed my mind.
GRUNFOS
Hi, Do the class 40 noses come off in the same way as the 37's? If so could you please give any hints how? Thanks Paul.
blueeighties
Hi Paul, they do indeed. Careful leverage with a small screwdriver works every time for me.

Waverley West
Morning Dave. That will be mine! Simple phosphor bronze pickups, wired up to a led lighting strip Thought it might be Lee. Looks good. Nice job. Putting lights in my coaches has been a job on my to do list for a while now, but there always seems to be something else more important to do. You can't beat a good night session with lit coaches (my 108s have lighting of course). One day!
blueeighties
Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I love the look of these, except they now make the interior cry out for passengers and a bit of detailing. As you say, one day I might be able to get to do some of my own stock....... blueeighties
I have been trying oyt some new weathering techniques on a batch of coaching stock. Lots of colour washing, subtly filling the nooks and crannies, and leaving just a hint of rain streaked dirt on the bodysides. Network Rail 66. And the little push pull Mcrat is finished. Sorry, I didn't have a chassis handy!
RBE
The subtle weathering on those coaches looks a lot better. Finally someone else embracing the false shade work that Ive been trying to push. Lovely work! Interesting liveries on the locos too. NR actually suits the 66. I really like the effect, closest I have had to the prototype yet. I have to agree with your comment about the 66, not a clas I have the slightest passion for, but somehow yellow seems to suit. emt_911
Seriously impressed with the subtle weathering. It seems to be just right. Duncan

coachmann
Your subtle weathering is very effective. You've got it just enough and no more. I happen to believe it shouldn't really be visible from a distance. Edited February 15, 2014 by coachmann

Popular Post blueeighties
Some freight heavyweights on the bench. This started out as an EWS 60, not one of my favourite classes to start off with (a bit too modern for me), but I have grown to like them a lot. I still have a few details to add, cab handrails, touch up some of the cantrail lining, add some new airhorns, but she is pretty much there. I may even sell her, not sure yet. This is an older model I did, just thought I would spruce her up a bit whilst on the bench trying to sort an electrical issue. Nice pair! Crying out for drivers....
RBE
Nice 60 Lee, I also did 050 in metals a couple of years back for a commission. Wished I could have kept it!
