My detailing/repainting projects

Recommended Posts

Some great work there Lee, I've been meaning to suggest 60163 suit a Thornaby Kingfisher in that Livery!

I hadn't asked lee to put those on yet, but I was going to after studying several pictures of 37 518 this afternoon... I also noted the back cabside numbers aren't required, just the cabside Railfreight logos.

Great work as ever Lee,

I'm curious to know, now you have changed a hobby to a job, does the hobby still appeal as such ?

Hi Rob. So far so good. I must admit, I have been taken a bit by surprise by just how much work is coming in these days, it can be a trifle daunting. The flip side of that is that it's a bit of a dream come true to be so immersed in a subject I genuinely enjoy and have a real passion for. If anything, my interest has increased, and I'm still learning every day. In short, one of the best decisions I have made in this life :-)

No worries, let us know how you get on.

You saw Kals re-numbering following your advice.....here's my new livery.

One side down, one to go....

Blueeighties An update as requested.........

still need to seal it, as ALL the paint has been replaced I am going to go with Newbryford's idea of Klear, if any of the Bachmann train had still be visible I would have used your Railmatch idea in stead. Thanks again for your advice.

Its getting tricky finding the time for updates these days, but here we go.

One of the most important project for any workspace, is the installation of a half decent sound system. Whilst grafting with the airbrush, Metallica can be played all day long  :-thumbsup

Picked these up from Richer Sounds, for the princely sum of 40 quid. I really cannot believe how good they are. Might be tempted to get some more for the av system.

They are Lee. Ive tried to take a photo of my N gauge one at a similar angle to your OO one. The lighting is poor in my dining room mind but you get the idea. The camera is a bit crueller in the smaller scale though!!

The quality of modern N stock is incredible as Im sure you know. You can even read the solebar text on that bg if I hadnt weathered over it of course and taken a clearer picture! Im really taken by N since my transition over.
