Cold, of course. Gordon

Koyli
Just been up to Pontefract. Motorways are clear, other roads a bit slushy at present, but will improve as traffic picks up. Public transport running. Hope to see you there. Mark.
RichardEyre
Any word on car parking? I can't imagine the usual field is great today.
Nick Hughes
The show opens in an hour and twenty mins - 10am - motorways running well, slushy on the other roads - we've now got blue skies and sunshine over Pontefract, there's a team cleaning the paths so it's all go for a cracking show :-)
RMweb Premium richierich Posted January 26, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 26, 2013 If the weather forecast prediction is true rain tonight will wash the snow away, so might get along tomorrow, so want to see Outon Road and Alford Yard. eastwestdivide
Well, the train from Sheffield was packed with about 6 people, of whom 2 got off at Pontefract, so no need to reserve after all. Very enjoyable selection, good tea and cake at very reasonable prices, plenty of trade stands - what's not to like? Here's a few favourite photos (don't get offended if yours isn't there - it's just a selection of half-decent photos) The excellent Lego TGV Outon Road, with GOURANGA as seen on many a bridge Bishop Bridge (shades of Weymouth) Yeoman's Quay Cuyahoga - the boat skipper has some explaining to do Crumley & Little Wickhill, including the beast of Wensleydale St Marnock Engine Shed, looking for all the world like a B&W shot with added colour - in fact there was just the one clean loco Menasha, WI, with the opening bridge Victoria Road (or Saltaire, really), with a strange blue thing Fisherrow Yard, which you could nearly smell if you tried hard enough
Nick Hughes
Nice selection of photos - glad you enjoyed the show :-)
RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted January 26, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 26, 2013 Just got back from the show and enjoyed it. Had a chat with 2 other exhibition managers but we couldn't come up with a suitable collective noun as 'a winge' has already been allocated to traders. Readers may want to try and put a caption to this. I've heard of the hand of god and the skyhook to shunt wagons that won't move but this brings a whole new meaning to 'manual point operation. bluebottle
As I've no idea who's hidden under there, I hesitate to point out that the converse of “The hand of God” might be “The hand of Satan"... Gordon
