Well its set up day ,snow to start around 3pm at Pontefract then weekend looks ok.

Alford Yard all ready  to be loaded into car ,house smells great from cakes n buns?

If you can visit the show many thanks for effort,im sure you will find it enjoyable with lots of great layouts,traders and demo,s?

HI all  the show is ready to go just two more layouts to set up in the morning. HUGHS layout ALFORD YARD  is all set for me to operate .plenty of good trade stands and great layouts .come along and have a chat . hope you can visit our show . our cafe will be open sandwiches / cakes / buns /teas coffee /THANKS hope to see you over the weekend. soul man [chris].

Well, the train from Sheffield was packed with about 6 people, of whom 2 got off at Pontefract, so no need to reserve after all.

 

Very enjoyable selection, good tea and cake at very reasonable prices, plenty of trade stands - what's not to like?

Just got back from the show and enjoyed it.  Had a chat with 2 other exhibition managers but we couldn't come up with a suitable collective noun as 'a winge' has already been allocated to traders.

 

Readers may want to try and put a caption to this.

I've heard of the hand of god and the skyhook to shunt wagons that won't move but this brings a whole new meaning to 'manual point operation.
