Busy day today, the chimney stack has been weathered, The turntable primer has been completed and the bricks are in base Bauxite, The shell of the western shed is made up and the midland shed has had some bits repaired after being in storage for 2 years!
A slaters order is needed now plus some spares from Phil at Intentio and some more plastic section and corrugated card.

Cladding the shed for the western region shed commission plus planting a few large MBR trees on Sonning. That’ll probably be it for Sonning this year. Commission work and Canton will take priority now as commission work pays and Canton has a show invite for April.

Skytrex bridge abutments will be painted up in the usual way and I’ll Add a bow string on top as I’m using the buildings I had for Ranelagh bridge and the track work I want to capture the essence of that area in this build.
the client does have space to incorporate this into a loop so he can have trains running by and locos on shed.

Hope you don't mind Steve but I've been catching up with your wonderful work (which is helping to kick start my modelling mojo) and couldn't resist giving this pic the old black & white treatment, with just a dash of extra contrast.... ;)

Not a problem at all,  I’ve just had the model rail photo shoot pictures back and the black and white ones have come out amazing!
for obvious reasons I can’t share them until after the magazine article has appeared.
black and white pictures do look really good as we are used to seeing them in books

Im Glad your getting your modelling mojo back

Cheers Steve - it's not just your modelling skills I admire it's your output too, very inspiring. I've done another b&w one, the brickwork you did in this shot looks amazing....

Timber sleepers laid on Westbourne bridge  ( formerly Marches road western) today. My mates are helping out with the track work on this project, I’m hoping to get it delivered to the customer by December

for updates on the midland shed project see my Smoke ash and steam thread
