steve fay
I made a start on the track weathering today, And as the postie didn't arrive with my ballast I decided to build this little PWay hut from Intentio. A great little kit and could find itself on Coryton Cove.

Great Western
I've spend a good few hours looking through your "average" lol signal thread, awesome doesn't cover it ! Being a western man your proper lower quadrant signals were of particular interest, can't wait to see the miniature masterpieces for ST-E. steve fay
Both boards are bolted together so I can complete the ballasting. Here's the line side buildings in place plus the concrete trunking and some wiring.

81A Oldoak
Nice to see the painted "sight board" for the old semaphore bracket signal still on the tunnel mouth.... The much faded remains of the sighting boards for Winchester Station's double co-acting down starter signal are still just visible on the bridge that carries Upper Hight Street over the railway. I'll try to remember to photograph them some time.
steve fay
Great shots Marc, the last one A sign of things to come maybe!! I've just noticed in your picture the retaining wall out side the tunnel mouth is brick work so I've just sprayed up a suitable piece of laser cut brick work Edited March 28, 2016 by steve fay
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted March 28, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 28, 2016 Nice to see the painted "sight board" for the old semaphore bracket signal still on the tunnel mouth.... There are a number of them about on the WR - the one for Twyford East's Up Relief Home must be one of the oldest as the signal went 55 years ago this year
steve fay
No sooner is the ballast down the weeds are starting to take hold!!
Great Western
Great shots Marc, the last one A sign of things to come maybe!! I've just noticed in your picture the retaining wall out side the tunnel mouth is brick work so I've just sprayed up a suitable piece of laser cut brick work There is a grate in the down side wall, which leads into some kind of chamber. I'm on a XX30 Wednesday off Cardiff, so hopefully the preceding HST will drag its arse through the tunnel, that usually means we get stopped on the Welshside for him to clear, so hopefully I'll be able to get a picurre of it. steve fay
This lot arrived this morning, I need to pick up some poster paint Monday and get dying. I still have some more scenics to come including some nice stuff from a polish firm. http://pandhmodels.com/category.php?id_category=92 Moving on to Gaer junction I collected this toad this morning, I've since added transfers Acton for use on Ranelagh Bridge and Pontypool road for use on Gaer junction. This morning I've collected this JLtRt Collett suburban which will be joined by a lionheart B set for use on the western valleys locals and Cardiff Newport locals. And lastly this lovely little shunters truck I've added Acton on one side for use on RB and Newport on the other for trip freight workings on Gaer junction east Usk yards to Alexandra docks hopefully behind a 15xx Edited April 2, 2016 by steve fay
steve fay
Boards back apart and time to finish the concrete retaining walls. I've done a brick retaining wall for behind the signal box. Then on to dying the teddy bear fur. Once dry I will give it a good brush and re-coat again.
steve fay
A second going over with the poster paints and then a good brushing to remove any clumping paint. Then a waft over with a brown rattle can and finally Sindge it! The top picture has been singed. I'm just awaiting a delivery of a few more cams of spray both brown and dark green. Once I've cut it to suit the boards I will attack certain areas with hair clippers and add thicker foliage plus some lighter foliage here and there then wild flowers etc
steve fay
I've cut the grass to size today, next will be sticking it down although not by the tunnel mouths just yet then clipping certain areas and adding bushes and underbrush ETC.
