Grimleygrid
In between working on Boxenby, I have managed to have a play with my Red stripe Rail Freight 31 on New Southwich. Superb! Here she is in action working some PCAs: I feel a few more sound 31s coming on.....

Southwich
Thanks David! Over the last few days my dad and I have been taking full advantage of being able to run trains on New Southwich, and as a result I have posted a new YouTube video: Thanks for looking, Any feedback is much appreciated, Will
Grimleygrid
This afternoon I sprayed the walkways and caged ladders with a different grey as I was not happy with the previous colour. Before the grey seemed to have a greenish tint which was not nice, it certainly didn't look right and annoyed me, so there was no option but to respray them. Now I am happy, they can be weathered and then added to the silos. image by AP474, on Flickr Will has been working on some fencing to go around the cement terminal, I believe a kit from Knightwing, here is how it is looking so far: image by AP474, on Flickr image by AP474, on Flickr

RBE
Looking good. Especially like the use of proper track. With all the people turning to handbuilt stuff these days it may just send the message to the big boys that we want better track!! Following with interest. Southwich
Thanks David, Bob, Cav, Neil and Class60lover! Over the past few weeks Ive been adding and ordering various details for the layout including the trunking, security fencing, point levers and the warehouse as well as ordering the ballast for New Southwich and my photo plank. Work has also been carried out on the photo plank, using plaster cloth to make the shape of the hillside. RMweb Gold mudmagnet Posted October 12, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 12, 2014 Hi Will Looking good. The fencing looks the part. Can't say I've noticed this fencing in Knightwing range before.
Southwich
Thanks MM and David Something a little different! Tonight I've started a little side project, which is creating a mk3 set of one/anglia coaches. I intend on fitting lighting and re spraying the coach myself. Tonight, with the aid of grimley senior, I have taken the roof off, cut a strip ready for the LEDs and filed the roof so it fits in minus the glazing. RBE
Watch the lighting in the old lima coach. The roofs are clear as you know and the light will bleed through them like hell. I would suggest a heavy coat of grey primer on the inside and outside and then some black over that both side to ensure not leakage. Like the way the details are going down on the layout. The warehouse doesn't look so big. There are many warehouses much bigger about and I think that one would add some good height to the backdrop at that point. Grimleygrid
On Monday evening I decided to make a mock up of the warehouse for New Southwich, printed off on A3 paper, stuck together with selotape and then strengthened with cardboard. image by AP474, on Flickr The building will be a mixture of brickwork and cladding. Southwich
Evening all, Over the last few days I've been working with my grandad on the scenic board. It has now been extended to 6ft long. First off the frame was built using my usual method, then raised with glued wood and screwed on deck. The last job of this afternoon was to fit the two fluorescent tubes to light the layout, which really do light the layout! I am considering a new thread for this new board, as well as a name, so any suggestions are much appreciated! Anyway, photos to follow: First off during the 90s: Scenic board layout by southwichrailway, on Flickr Scenic board layout by southwichrailway, on Flickr Scenic board layout by southwichrailway, on Flickr Scenic board layout by southwichrailway, on Flickr Then in a more modern setting: Scenic board layout by southwichrailway, on Flickr Scenic board layout by southwichrailway, on Flickr Scenic board layout by southwichrailway, on Flickr Scenic board layout by southwichrailway, on Flickr Any feedback is much appreciated!
