Does anyone know if is an ex-HBR insulated or non-insulated van? I ask as I have one to repaint and the body colour etc., differs between the insulated and non-insulated versions. I don't have enough source material on H&BR rolling stock to know what to look for in identifying the difference. I can live with the wrong chassis for now. jwealleans
You can get away with both, depending on era - IIRC they were insulated (so white) under the HBR, but by the LNER some went into more general perishables use and were thus painted red oxide.
