cgraham
I will be sure to take and post some photos - but it may deserve its own topic. Maybe "Glühwein on the Zugspitzbahn in N scale" Edited February 12, 2014 by cgraham

cgraham
Thanks - glad to be back! I completed a Master of Science Degree in Cybersecurity a few weeks ago so I've been a bit pre-occupied. I'm working on rebuilding the Hogwarts castle base modules from a pair of corners that make 180 degree turn to a set of 3 modules that make a 6' X 6' 90 degree corner. It will make it easier to transport, set up and integrate with the rest of the modular layout. So for this coming show, I'll only be taking my Key Biscayne and Hogsmeade Station modules but will be capturing the rest of the large club layout on video.
cgraham
In an effort to make the whole Hogwarts module setup as portable as I can, I decided to split the mountain into 2 pieces. The horror...

cgraham
Gross construction of over-sized corner module complete. Now on to laying rail, caulking, painting and adding water effect:
cgraham
My video of the October train show shot with a Polaroid Cube didn't work out. It was the first time I used the new camera and all video files on the cube's MicroSD were corrupt. But a fellow club member shot a whole lot of rail-level video with a GoPro of our layout and others at the show. cgraham
Thanks - the first 1:54 are shots taken on the Meade Area Rail-Road Society (MARRS) layout. 40-1:11 were taken on the far right of my "Key Biscayne" module looking toward Hogsmeade Station that it was connected to. A little bit better shot of Hogsmeade Station appears briefly from 8:03 - 8:22. Here's one of our layout with the camera on a boom: http://youtu.be/d8WrxZ3Zjec Edited November 18, 2014 by cgraham
cgraham
Here are a couple of videos riding a flat car on the MARRS club layout this past weekend at Greenberg's Train & Toy show in Timonium, Maryland. In this one you're riding the flatcar facing forward toward the steam engine tender: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MddTf2f0l_8 In this video, you're sitting on the back of the flatcar with your wee legs dangling over the coupler: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrjLd0FZvoc Edited December 9, 2014 by cgraham

Jaz
i think you might be short of visitors as you were away so long, people may have stopped following, i would be tempted to pop into some of your old friends threads, so they realise you are back....hope you are planning a nice xmas on Av I am hoping to encourage people to do something for xmas day or boxing day or both. If you have any update on the Harry Potter, that might be fun it would count as a TV film
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted December 9, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 9, 2014 Great videos Clay, they really show just how big the layout is. And how strange to see a rake of BR Mk1 coaches in the midst of all the US rolling stock Nice one mate, Al.
cgraham
Thank you, Al. The Mark 1's are also mine.
cgraham
The Greenberg's show this past weekend was rather small and most of the dealers were selling O scale toy trains and similar stock. The Great Scale Model Train Show <www.gsmts.com> returns to the Maryland venue Jan 31-Feb 01 2015 and I hope to have the Hogwarts School castle model rebuilt and operating. Our club layout shouId be about 3 times blarger than this last one and I plan to acquire lots of video and photos for posting.
