Oh poo , so I was in a hurry , go wash your Wilton work top . tongue.gif laugh.gif wink.gif

What on earth is a "Wilton Worktop"....?

Hope it's not some euphamism :O ....

Thanks for the info re Daves layout....

Would really like to see an article, so I'll keep a look-out for that compendium.

..and if I'm ever near Beer (the place!)

Catalyna was a terrific example of lighting on a model....

..Shirley built it to represent lighting over 24 hours.

There was even a sunrise + sunset. The latter was particularly effective,

as the sky changed colour to an ever deepening blue,

as lights came on in the houses / buildings....

The lighting on Shirley Rowe's Catalunya this was described in an article in MRJ46 (I was reading it again only last week).

Also you shouldn't forget Dave Rowe's books originally published by Wild Swan - "Architectural Modelling" and "Industrial and Mechanised Modelling". The latter has a full description of how he modelled the telescopic bridge featured on Exbridge Quay.

Guest Natalie Graham

But Randall,

Standing on the tracks at Maenol was against regulations!

Nice convincing shot!

Marc

I think he's edited that shot though.

He's cut the bottom off so we can't see he's got a large slab of plastic stuck to his feet. :)

Ha ha ha!

Yep!... and you should have seen me kangaroo hopping away when the foreman shouted "Oy!"

Or was it "Oi"?

Big bu**er he was too!

All of 45mm!

Hi folks,

A view of Waverley through The Mound Tunnel early one wintry morning in 1981...

Hi Dave

Great Shot, as are all the Photos you take. Love the use of Natual Light and the casting of the Long Shadows, as if an early morning sunrise.

Keep up the great wook.

Lovely rust on those buffers!

I'm not in the same league, but maybe a little Photoshoppery will add some pizazz to my effort :) Wish I'd fixed the driver properly (he should have his foot on the pedal) before taking this.

I like this one as well, despite the lack of trains:

This thread is really inspiring - I really need to get on with my other layout so I can photograph my OO stuff properly :)

Cheers,

Not in the same league? Sorry, Will, but if I had seen the photo above anywhere else other than this thread, I would quite happily have accepted it as a photo of a real place. smile.gif Lovely.

Cheers,

Dave
